Covering Thunder Bay and much of Northern Ontario, Local 759's 365 members provide construction and maintenance services to a large mining construction industry (gold, diamonds, palladium, etc), the sawmill and paper industries, and a variety of infrastructure, commercial and institutional construction projects within Thunder Bay.

They're planning for continued solid demand as several billion dollars worth of future new mines are built in region where chromium and other metals have been discovered.

Demand is great right now, and looking good into the future.

They're expanding their welding shop to 10 bays, staffed by a full-time trainer. Apprentices take their training at Sault Ste. Marie.

The Local is a member of the solid Ontario Ironworkers Benefit Plan, 100% employer-paid, which covers a wide range of medical, dental, vision, prescription, paramedical and other services.

They have a defined contribution pension savings plan.
